Setup guide
Mac (Apple silicon)
- Unzip the client, then install Private WoW Launcher.app from the launcher zip and use it every time — it launches through Terminal on purpose (macOS blocks unsigned apps from the local network silently).
- Leave the Terminal window open while playing; minimize it manually if it's in the way.
- Stuck on "Connecting"? Quit WoW, then in Terminal run
pkill -9 -f WoW.exe; pkill -9 -f -i wineand relaunch.
Windows
- Unzip the client and run
Wow.exe. If it won't start, try WoWee (a native 3.3.5a client) pointed at realmwow.mod25.com.
Addons (Carbonite, TidyPlates, …)
- Unzip the addon, then copy the folder(s) into
Interface/AddOnsinside the game folder. - On the character-select screen, click AddOns (bottom left) and enable "Load out of date AddOns".
